- If you need help with make up or hair, that is an extra
charge
for makeup artist and must be scheduled ahead of time.
- Research what goes into a great acting headshot.
- Be on time for your appointment or early.
- Have several choices of clothes ready and wear
the one
you think will work best.
- The eyes show it all... the photographer will tell
you
how to move but you need to think and feel so there is something
happening with the eyes. You don't fake the emotion ... cause the
camera knows when you are not truthful.

Actors Do Your Job.
- A word to the wise actor ... Be prepared.
- The headshot is one of your most important marketing tools.
- KNOW what you are doing. Unfortunately, we have those who do not
prepare.
- A badly prepared actor who stays up all night the night before
or
shows up with a black shirt and white tie for a commercial look can not
expect any photographer to be able to wave a magic wand to correct your
mistake.
- Come rested and prepared.
- Please no extreme hair dos.
- Please research which colors do better for photos. Jill Charles
book
"The Actor Picture/Resume Book" is published by Theatre Directories, a
program of American Theatre Works, Inc. Dorset, Vermont.
- We think you should read up on acting headshots BEFORE you take
the
photo. Go to the library. Talk to your agent.
- Bring several options for clothes. Natural fabrics work best.
Avoid shinny material or fabric that is too busy with designs.
- The best results come from the actor who has done the
homework, brings several good choices of clothes, has a good
hair cut, brings dry face powder that matches skin tone, eye concealer
to touch up under eyes, knows what colors and fabrics work for black
and white (NO BUSY PRINTS).
- REMEMBER these are ACTING headshots, not glamour or modeling
headshots.
- The casting people want to see the real person in the headshot.
